Apocephalus borealis pupae and adults have been confirmed from a sample of honey bees taken from under a porch light in Burlington, Vermont.  This is the first case of parasitism by the zombie fly in honey bees from the eastern half of the United States. Winter is fast approaching and time is of the essence to determine how widespread the threat is. We urge everyone in the eastern United States and adjacent areas of Canada to be on the lookout for infected bees and report their findings to ZomBee Watch. Read more.
